The Russian shipping company Sovcomflot experienced the decrease by 33.7% in its profit for the three quarters of 2024.
The main reason why Sovcomflot faced such a blow to its profit was the imposition of sanctions by the EU and the US in 2024.
Nevertheless, the largest shipping company of the Russian Federation contemplates on paying dividends in the amount of 50% of adjusted profit for the year.
Although Russian investors anticipate a challenging period because of sanctions imposed on Russia by Western countries, they still have a chance to obtain dividends from Sovcomflot. It shows that stricter control should be established and more sanctions should be imposed by the EU and the US to prevent Russia from continuing receiving revenues from its trade with various states.
