April 19: Eastern Ukraine digest

  • Russian invaders are transferring additional anti-aircraft missile divisions of “Tor” surface-to-air missiles (SAM). They are also deploying S-400 and S-300 anti-aircraft missile divisions in the Belgorod region.
  • Russian troops destroyed another 12 residential buildings in the Luhansk region, most in Kreminna

  • On the night of 18-19 April, the Russian occupying forces conducted large-scale attacks on settlements in the Kryvyi Rih district of the Dnipropetrovsk region with multiple rocket launchers and artillery shells.
  • In the city of Mariupol, which is besieged by the Russian army, the occupying troops not only drop bombs on the Azovstal plant [which Ukrainian soldiers are still defending] but also chaotically shell the city’s residential neighbourhoods, where they only recently allowed civilians to return.
  • The Russians shelled Kharkiv: 3 dead, 16 wounded
  • General Staff: Armed Forces of Ukraine regained control over Maryinka in Donetsk region
  • Donetsk region: Russians hit Kramatorsk with missiles, killing one and wounding others
  • Deputy Commander of the “Azov” Regiment Sviatoslav “Kalyna” Palamar said that the “Azovstal” plant in Mariupol had been bombed and almost completely destroyed. Ukrainian fighters are pulling people out of the rubble.
  • 70,000 people remain in the Luhansk region, with evacuation impossible in some places.
