April 21: a digest from eastern Ukraine

  • President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine believes that the siege of Mariupol can be broken by diplomatic or military means. While Ukraine is preparing for this, it needs its international partners to supply the necessary weapons.
  • Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy 17 units of Russian equipment and an ammunition depot in Donbas
  • Dnipropetrovsk region: occupiers fire at Zelenodolsk from multiple launch rocket systems
  • Russian occupiers bury killed Mariupol residents in the village of Mangush en masse – adviser to the mayor
  • Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Oleksiy Danilov said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine has killed a detachment of Libyans and Syrians in the Luhansk region.
  • The Russian Defence Ministry has again announced the “liberation” of the town of Rubizhne, said the head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Sergiy Gaidai. He also stressed that it was a fake.
  • The “Zaporizhzhia-Lviv” train has been damaged in missile strikes on Zaporizhzhia. No passengers were injured.

  • The Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration Valentyn Reznichenko said that on Thursday night, the Russian forces hit the railway line in Novomoskovsk district with rockets.
