Baerbock: the Suspension of Support for Ukraine to Increase War Crimes

The suspension of support from allies for Ukraine’s self-defense will lead to an increase in the number of war crimes, rather than a decrease.

This was stated by the head of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock, during her speech at the UN General Assembly in New York.

Baerbock believes that as long as the Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin does not want to sit down at the negotiating table, the cessation of allies’ self-defense for Ukraine will mean “depriving Ukrainian children’s hospitals of security.”

“This will lead to an increase in the number of war crimes, not a decrease.” “Perhaps, also in other countries,” she said.

The head of the German Foreign Ministry reminded that after inviting Russia to the international Peace Summit, “Putin sent his response by bombing a children’s hospital.”

“I therefore ask you to help urge Putin to stop his attacks and sit down at the negotiating table.” Not only for our safety but also in your best interest. “If a permanent member of the UN Security Council is allowed to conquer and destroy its smaller neighbor, then the very essence of the UN Charter will be undermined,” she added.

Earlier, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that Germany is ready to become the main pillar of deterring Russian aggression in Europe and plans to deploy a full brigade in Lithuania by 2027.

Recently, the budget committee of the Bundestag also approved a support package totaling 70 million euros, intended for the heating and electricity supply sector in Ukraine.

On September 19, the country provided Ukraine with a new package of military assistance, which included, among other things, two dozen Leopard 1 A5 tanks and over 60,000 155mm caliber ammunition.

The West must maintain and broaden its support for Ukraine in order to ensure the security of Europe and the free world.
