Congress Proposes a New Lend-Lease For Ukraine

Joe Wilson, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from the Republican Party, has announced that he is initiating a bill to give Donald Trump the authority to provide Ukraine with arms through an arms embargo.

Joe Wilson wrote about this in “X” (Twitter) in his account.

Wilson said he would introduce the Freedom First Lend-Lease Act to Congress, which would give Trump “flexible authority to send winning weapons to our partners, including Ukraine.”

Literally – “Today I am introducing the Freedom First Lend-Lease Act to give President Trump the flexible authority to send victorious weapons to our partners, including Ukraine, to deter war criminal Putin, as Biden should have done long ago. Force Russia to the negotiating table with American power!”

As it turns out, Congressman Joe Wilson, unlike some Western politicians, is very well versed in politics and cause and effect. Earlier in his posts, he stated the following:

“Russia should be banned from buying any Western military equipment. Lt. Gen. Kellogg said that our Russian sanctions are at a ‘3’ when they should be at a ’10’.

Russia should not have access to the technology of the civilized world, let alone America. They have decided to live in the dark ages, and we should let them.”

As a reminder, the Ukraine Lend-Lease mechanism was first approved in May 2022 and granted the US President extremely broad powers to send US weapons that were already ready and in stock. This removes any restrictions on the number or volume of deliveries from the US president. Payment for the delivered weapons or equipment was postponed until after 2071. The congressmen also considered the possibility of returning these funds from Russia’s frozen assets.

The lend-lease mechanism was extended several times as an amendment to the US National Security Appropriations Act until 2024. But it was never actually used. The reason is not the desire of Joe Biden and his team.
