EU Foreign Ministers to Consider Imposing New Sanctions against Russia and Iran

EU foreign ministers are to meet today to discuss the conflict in the Middle East and efforts of the EU to back Ukraine against the Russian Federation, notwithstanding the resistance of the Hungarian side. The EU contemplates on hitting organizations and actors of the Russian Federation accused of undermining democracy and security of Moldova by imposing new sanctions prior to a referendum on the membership in the EU later this month.

Furthermore, the EU wants to sanction Iran for providing ballistic missiles to the Russian Federation for the usage in Ukraine against innocent civilians. The sanctions, which are to be imposed today, are aimed at punishing individuals and companies involved in the program of development of ballistic missiles carried out by Iran and supply of these weapons to Russia.
