The US and the EU have recently sanctioned Iran, which has been producing and providing Russia with drones since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine. These sanctions will affect legal entities and individuals.
According to Matthew Miller, Spokesperson for the US Department of State, the United States has imposed sanctions on one Iranian individual and four Iranian entities involved in developing, manufacturing, and proliferating unmanned aerial vehicles provided to the Russian Federation for the purpose of prolonging the war and destabilizing the region. The sanctions will affect four enterprises associated with Rayan Roshd Afzar and the Head of the Iran Aviation Industries Organization.
Furthermore, Matthew Miller added that these restrictions had been agreed upon and imposed with the EU sanctions. However, the EU and the USA should continue searching for loopholes used by the Russian Federation to obtain various commodities necessary for manufacturing deadly missiles.
