Russians made a fake announcement about the participation of the Russian film Brother 3 at Cannes Film Market

The organizers of the Marché du Film said that they were surpsised to see the information about the participation of the Russian film at the film market.

“We ourselves are very surprised.” The organizers of the Cannes film market denied the participation of the Russian film Brother 3.

Marché du Film (Cannes Film Market) published a post on social networks that Switzerland became an honorary participant of the film market, where in the comments the organizers openly denied the participation of the Russian film and the Russian film company in future film markets.

The organizers also recalled the official statement of the Cannes Film Festival, issued in March 2022 in response to the full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine.

“The festival and Marché will not host official Russian delegations and will not allow the presence of anyone associated with the Russian government,” the statement said.

The information about the participation of the Russian film in the Marché du Film was shared by Georgy Shabaev, an investigative journalist of the Radio Liberty, on his Facebook page with a link to publications in the Russian mass media that circulated on April 3 and 4. Ukrainians turned to the Marché du Film for clarification on social networks.
