A group of far-right Slovak MPs led by Deputy Speaker and leader of the nationalist SNS party Andrej Danko are preparing to travel to Moscow.
According to Danko, the visit to Moscow will take place on January 10, 2025, and has already been approved by the acting Speaker of Parliament Peter Žiha, meaning that it will be financed from the Slovak budget.
Six other MPs will travel to Russia with the leader of the Slovak National Party, but the final list has not yet been finalized.
Danko said that in Moscow he is going to meet with Russian Duma (Russian Parliament – ed.) Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, who invited Danko to Russia this summer, but the visit had to be postponed.
In addition, the SNS leader wants to talk to Russian Industry Minister Denis Manturov about “cooperation in the energy sector.”
“And then, of course, I would not want to ignore Lavrov (Russian foreign minister – ed.), with whom I have a very good relationship,” Danko admitted.
Earlier, Luboš Blaha, an MEP from the party of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, had already disgraced himself with a visit to Moscow.
Slovak PM Fico said he wanted to watch the Red Square parade in Moscow in 2025.
