U.S. Intelligence Dismisses Putin’s Nuclear Threats as Unfounded

According to Reuters, US intelligence believes that allowing Ukraine to shoot American weapons deep into Russia does not enhance the likelihood of a nuclear attack by the Russian Federation.

Russia’s launch of a new ballistic missile last week did not alter this assessment. Analysts believe that Washington and its European allies intended the launch as a signal.

According to American officials, President Biden changed his mind when North Korean soldiers joined the battle.

Some officials now believe that fears of escalation, including nuclear threats, were overstated. However, they caution that the overall situation in Ukraine remains perilous, and we cannot rule out nuclear escalation.

A new nuclear policy, which Vladimir Putin approved earlier on November 19, expanded the boundaries for the use of Russian nuclear weapons.

Putin also threatened Western countries with retaliation once they allowed Ukraine to launch missiles into Russian territory.
