Russian troops are actively improving unmanned aerial vehicles and electronic warfare (EW) equipment based on the experience gained in the war against Ukraine. Putin uses these latest technological developments in hybrid operations against NATO member states.
This was reported by the american Institute for the Study of War.
Analysts note that in 2024, NATO countries increasingly faced the threat of Russian hybrid attacks and sabotage. For example, the German authorities failed to shoot down suspected Russian reconnaissance drones flying near a German military facility in January 2025, where Ukrainian troops were training.
Literally: “Reports of attempts by a NATO member state to counter alleged Russian reconnaissance drones underscore the need for further development of defense capabilities, as Russia continues to use the experience gained on the battlefield in Ukraine to create the latest technologies.”
