This is the amount of money the EU will allocate to Ukraine in 2025 from the frozen assets of the Russian Federation. This was announced at a press conference by President of the European Council Antonio Costa.
“This month, the European Union will provide Ukraine with an additional 4.2 billion euros to support the Ukrainian budget. In addition to this, starting next month, we will provide 1.5 billion euros of assistance every month for a whole year. These funds come from the use of frozen Russian assets, and they can also be used for military purposes,” Costa said.
The European Union will continue to support Ukraine economically, humanitarian and militarily.
The President of the European Council noted that the EU will continue to put pressure on the Russian economy and is already working on the 15th package of sanctions to reduce Russia’s ability to wage war against Ukraine.
