How Dutch politician Thierry Baudet supports Putin, racism and the collapse of the EU

“RussiaVsWorld” continues to tell about Russian agents in Europe who promote Kremlin propaganda and Russian interests.

Today we will introduce you to a Dutch politician, the founder and leader of Forum for Democracy (FvD) party, and also a member of the House of Representatives since 2017. His name is Thierry Baudet.

Baudet is a staunch Eurosceptic, an opponent of migration and demanding to exclude the prospect of Ukraine’s membership in the EU and NATO and advocate rapprochement between the Netherlands and Russia.

Ties with Russia

Vladimir Kornilov

In November 2016, Baudet co-signed a letter, initiated by the journalists Billy Six and Joost Niemöller, which questioned the independence of the MH17 investigations and requested Donald Trump to press for a new investigation.

In 2020 Dutch TV program Zembla published WhatsApp group messages with the interaction between Baudet and Russian Vladimir Kornilov, who Baudet described as “a Russian paid by Putin”, and demonstrated a significant influence of Kornilov on Baudet’s actions on Ukraine, the referendum and future anti-NATO campaigns.

Based on NYT, Kornilov has ties to the Kremlin and Vladimir Putin, and in his messages Baudet described him as “a Russian who works for Putin.”

In the chats with his FvD colleagues, Baudet also alluded to financial support from Kornilov. Baudet disagreed with the conclusions drawn from these texts, and said that the text messages were quoted out of context.

Supporting the genocide of Ukrainians

Baudet was strongly against the EU sanctions on Russian individuals after the occupation of Crimea.

He also has strongly opposed the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement that promotes the economic collaboration between the two. This agreement was made in 2017 and during the campaign, he spread a ton of fake news, including false reported of crimes by the Ukrainian military.

In addition, he has parroted the age-old claim that the 2022 war in Ukraine is the fault of the West, called Putin “the hero we need” and that he is the only one who can take on the elite (possibly referring to the WEF conspiracy theory).

Baudet has said that Putin must win the war in Ukraine and that “we must do everything we can to support him”.

Racism and conspiracy theories

In Apr 2020 the WhatsApp messages also revealed a racist side of Thierry, and in one chat he said that white people had an average IQ of 110, while Hispanics averaged at 90 and African-Americans at 75. The party members also discussed if they’d mind if their sister “came home with a negro”.

Those messages from FvD’s youth wing revealed a lot of anti-Semitic and homophobic rhetoric too. The group’s members also glorified mass murderers Anders Breivik and Brenton Tarrant.

Another interesting fact from Bode – he and Members of Parliament of his party have repeatedly compared measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 to the persecution of Jews by Nazi Germany.

Considering all the above, it is not surprising that he has promoted the idea that the world is controlled by evil lizard people, called the EU being “a Cultural Marxist project, with the aim of destroying European Civilization”, and suggested that COVID-19 was introduced by George Soros in order to “steal freedom”.

So what do we have in the end? By supporting Putin, Thierry Baudet is complicit in Russia’s crimes. Therefore, he, as well as persons like him, will definitely bear responsibility. It’s only a matter of time.
