On December 31, 2022, Iran has announced the participation of attack drones in military exercises near the Gulf of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz.
The “IRNA” agency reported that the “Arish”, “Paver” and “Ababil 5” drones participated in the “Zulfakar 1401” maneuvers, which are currently taking place near the Gulf of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the agency, the maneuvers are part of the annual military exercises. Iranian army exercises began on Friday with commandos, infantry, warplanes, military transport aircraft and submarines.
The agency said in these maneuvers also involved 12 “Kamman”-type attack and reconnaissance drones launched from an army drone base in southern Iran.
The agency said the drones carried out “successful” air strikes using the “Kaim” guided bomb, which can be carried by the “Muhajir 6”, “Ababil 4”, “Ababil 5” and “Kamman 12” drones.
Iran kept silent that there were many drone crashes during these exercises.
Is it the poor quality of drones or a test of new ones?
At the same time, in the Strait of Hormuz, representatives of Russia and Iran are finalizing drones to launch them from ships in the Black Sea to targets located in Ukraine.
