Rheinmetall will manufacture eight surgical stations for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Germany and Rheinmetall continue to provide systematic support to Ukraine directly. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has ordered Rheinmetall to supply eight additional Forward Surgical Team (FST) stations for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This order is part of an initiative of the German Federal Government. The delivery is expected to start in 2024 and be completed by the end of 2026.

The order consists of eight turnkey systems equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment. They include an X-ray container, an operating room, and an intensive care unit that meet the standards of a modern hospital. To transport each unit, Rheinmetall is also supplying a mobile component consisting of three Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles trucks with trailers. In addition to the supply of the FST stations, a week-long training program for the relevant Ukrainian personnel in Germany is also planned.

“Rheinmetall medical vehicles are highly mobile, very fast in operation, and meet the highest quality standards. The recently placed order emphasizes that our first deliveries of medical equipment to Ukraine have proven their value,” commented Armin Papperger, CEO of Rheinmetall. Earlier, Rheinmetall had already delivered a mobile field hospital to Ukraine and trained Ukrainian medical staff to work with it.

Recently, the German concern Rheinmetall cited statistics on the growth of its profitability, largely due to joint projects with the Ukrainian defense industry. Similarly, defense companies in the UK, the Czech Republic, and Canada are showing similar positive profitability dynamics. That is why they are already expanding their cooperation with the Ukrainian defense industry.
