Ukraine has suffered significant damage in the spheres of culture and religion due to the war of Russia’s war against Ukraine. Currently, the amount of damage is 1.5 billion dollars.
This means that many museums, theaters, libraries, architectural monuments, religious buildings were destroyed or damaged due to Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. Such losses greatly affect Ukrainian history and culture, and it takes a long time to recover them.
As of February 2023, 2,148 cultural and religious sites have been damaged in Ukraine. The largest number is in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Lugansk and Mykolaiv regions.
As a result of constant shelling of these territories, a significant number of cultural heritage monuments, as well as objects that are part of the UNESCO cultural monuments register, have been damaged.
