Ukraine on the way to NATO

France is open to the idea of inviting Ukraine to join NATO. This was stated by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot during his visit to Kyiv.

“As for the invitation to Ukraine to join NATO, we are open to it, and this is an issue that we are discussing with our partners,” the French Foreign Minister said.

Barrot also said that he supports the “Victory Plan” proposed by the President of Ukraine.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented his “Victory Plan”, which consists of five points. The first point is to immediately invite Ukraine to join NATO.

According to Barro, he will work with Ukrainian officials to enlist the support of other countries.

“A Russian victory would be a triumph of the right of the strongest and would push the international order into chaos. That is why our contacts should allow us to make progress in the implementation of President Zelensky’s Victory Plan and to rally as many countries as possible around it,” the French Foreign Minister said.

He also emphasized that Ukrainian resistance allows us to hold the front line – “which separates Europe from Vladimir Putin’s Russia, which separates freedom from oppression.”
