NATO Secretary General Calls to Ignore Russia’s Nuclear Threats

According to Sky News, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte believes that nuclear threats, which the Kremlin uses to try to undermine Western military support for Ukraine, should not intimidate NATO allies.

In response to enquiries regarding NATO allies’ concerns over Russia’s “nuclear sabre-rattling,” Rutte asserted that there is no reason for concern and that they are not worried.

Rutte stated that the NATO countries’ nuclear exercises, Steadfast Noon, which begin next week, will showcase the Alliance’s ability to address threats from the Kremlin.

He emphasized the current significance of nations evaluating and enhancing their defense capabilities.

“We also clearly sent a message to our adversaries that we stand ready to… respond to any threat,” added Rutte.

Rutte had earlier urged partners to ignore Russia’s nuclear threats and stressed that there are presently no direct threats of the use of nuclear weapons.

Not long earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that Russia will broaden the range of circumstances in which it is prepared to use nuclear weapons.

In response to Russia’s nuclear threats, the EU stated that this is yet another example of its irresponsible behavior and that they will not alter their position on continuing to support Ukraine.
