The launch, originally scheduled for December 31, 2024, has been delayed by a year due to sanctions pressure over the war with Ukraine and the withdrawal of international partners from the project.
Currently, only the linear accelerator at the SKIF site has been commissioned, while the rest of the assembly and research activities are now planned for 2025.
The SKIF project was intended for studying biopolymers, mechanisms of hereditary information transfer, and the development of new materials.
This marks the second postponement of the launch, which was initially slated for 2023.
