Lithuania Urges Creation of Register to Monitor Sanctions Violations

Lithuania is pushing for a register to track individuals and entities evading sanctions against Russia. Emanuelis Zingeris, leading the Lithuanian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), proposed this initiative to hold those profiting from Ukrainian suffering accountable. The proposal is to become a reality between May and November, coinciding with Lithuania’s chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

Zingeris emphasized the register’s role in warning companies against profiteering from the Ukrainian genocide. This measure seeks to enhance transparency by publicly identifying and denouncing entities circumventing sanctions. None will run from the punishment, and all of them will be punished, sooner or later.
