Russia will take advantage of the West’s hesitation to provide Ukraine with air defense systems, Lithuanian Foreign Minister

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielus Landsbergis, emphasized the need to provide Ukraine with the means to strengthen air defense.

His statement was cited by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, “European Truth” reports.

Landsbergis is convinced that the success of Israel and its allies in repelling a massive attack by Iran should contribute to an increase in the supply of air defense equipment to Ukraine.

“The West’s fear of escalating the situation by providing Ukraine with air defense means will allow Russia to take advantage of such hesitation,” the Lithuanian minister said.

Commenting on the events in the Middle East, Landsbergis pointed to the consequences of the West’s delay in tightening sanctions against Iran – over the weekend, Iran launched at least 300 Shahed drones and ballistic missiles at Israel, and Russia used more than 180 of the same drones against Ukraine last week.

He noted that it is necessary to avoid the spread of the conflict in the region, which would have catastrophic consequences for the Middle East and Ukraine, which continues its struggle against Russia.
